Stance on Climate Negotiations

Workshops and meetings, as directed by the COP or its subsidiary bodies, serve as platforms for expert insights, information exchange among delegates, and collaborative strategy-building outside formal negotiations. These gatherings are typically small, with limited participant numbers to ensure focus and productivity in fulfilling their designated objectives.

The format and participation for each workshop or meeting are largely shaped by the chairs of the subsidiary bodies, in coordination with the workshop or meeting chairs. They determine the structure, participant list, and the involvement of observers. Decisions regarding observer attendance depend on the specific nature and goals of the event, available resources, and the level of interest from observer organizations. This approach aims to create a productive working environment with a balanced mix of participants, supporting the ultimate goal of constructive and inclusive dialogue.
